Three Necessities for Start-up Success by Marc Andreessen

Seasoned serial entrepreneur Marc Andreessen shares his three criteria for a successful start-up. He states that there must be a substantial market opportunity, a product that's a 10x better solution, and an outstanding team. Andreessen goes on to state that there can be some compromise in the product area, but that the other two legs of a burgeoning business must stand firm.

Marc Andreessen (born July 9, 1971) is an American entrepreneur, investor, software engineer and multi-millionaire best known as co-author of Mosaic, the first widely-used web browser, and co-founder of Netscape Communications Corporation. He founded and later sold the software company Opsware to Hewlett-Packard. He is also a co-founder of Ning, a company which provides a platform for social-networking websites.
